Now Key Lime Pie in the queue– the Next Android Version

After ‘Ice Cream Sandwich’ and ‘Jelly Bean’ the Android, upgrade will probably bear the name ‘Key Lime Pie’ if reports from The Verge citing reliable sources are true. There has been no information as to when the Key Lime Pie will be officially announced or what its version number will be. However, in all probability it will roll out in late 2013.
ICS Upgrading Taking Ages
The ICS upgrading is moving at a snail’s pace, still only two devices- the new Nexus phone and the ASUS Transformer slate features the Android 4.0 ICS. This may cause the fragmentation of the Android gadgets, and many believe it is because of the heavy changes brought about in the ICS upgrade.
After ICS
Even the new version post ICS- the Jelly Bean has not been officially confirmed, although enough hints have been given by Google at the Mobile World Congress held at Barcelona recently. It seems that Google plans to release newer versions of Android each year. The acquisition of Motorola for one has driven speculations that the KLP will burst into the scene with its own hardware under the banner of Google. Anyhow, the guessing game continues- let us wait for more updates
